KARAMAH: MUSLIM WOMEN LAWYERS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE 7TH ANNUAL LAW AND LEADERSHIP SUMMER PROGRAM
July 6, 2009-July 24, 2009

KARAMAH’s Law and Leadership Summer Program is an intensive three week long course in which Muslim women from around the world convene in the national capital to learn about:

  • Islamic Jurisprudence
  • Comparative Law
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Leadership Development

The goal of the program is to cultivate leadership qualities in talented Muslim women and provide them with a foundation to become effective, thoughtful, and articulate members of their communities and societies at large.

Assisting them through this process are distinguished professors, lawyers and activists from leading American institutions.

KARAMAH: Muslim Women Lawyers for Human Rights is an educational and charitable organization committed to supporting human rights worldwide.  Its target audience consists of women, the legal community, the Muslim community, and society at large.

In particular, KARAMAH is committed to leading the effort to empower Muslim women to define their own contributions and forms of participation within their communities through legal education, leadership development, and an enhanced understanding of Islamic law.
