Maria Sison v. Council of the EU (case T-341/07): challenging the “list”

jose-maria-sisonAn interesting case in Europe where the ‘listing’ of individuals on EU Terrorist List is being challenged. The process and procedure being challenged is very similar to the process in Canada as defined by the Anti-Terrorism Act.

Press release from ECCHR issued in advance of the hearing in Jose Maria Sison v. Council of the EU (case T-341/07) in Luxembourg.

Sison is challenging the accuracy and legitimacy of the ’statement of reasons’ upon which the Council now bases its decision to freeze his assets and include him in the ‘terrorist list’.
