Nigel Hannaford has been hired as Harper’s speech writer.
Mr. Hannaford was a Calgary Herald columnist who is known for his ultraconservative views.
It only took me few minutes to find Nigel Hannaford’s views on these subjects:

Canadian military mission in Afghanistan:
“To end the mission in 2011 would thus be like Ottawa unilaterally pulling out of the 1939-1945 war in 1943, and leaving the rest of the allies to put the boots to Hitler“.
“They erected a shibboleth called multiculturalism, declared all cultures equally valuable, and set about promoting them as part of a so-called Canadian mosaic, lest anyone think we were an American melting pot. But, while all people are equal before the law, all cultures are not equally valuable.”
New Canadians’ right to participate in public policies:

To my friends from the Reform movement, if you were worried that Stephen Harper was getting soft, there is no need to worry.
He is still the same Harper we have come to know.
It’s the majority of Canadians that needs to remain worried.

Nigel Hannaford – If he really thinks that way, God bless him. Canadians — the REAL Canadians whose ancestors founded Canada, and who came to join us and ADOPT OUR CULTLURE — are being ethnically cleansed out of our own country. This is something that could not happen to someone from INDIA or CHINA or AFRICA, or even in MEXICO, as each of these nations outnumber CANADIANS many times over. China: 2 billion; India: 600,000,000 FARMERS alone in a nation of 2 billion. And those people are bitching about CANADIANS who prefer to keep our nation for ourselves? For OUR culture? Those people who have had nations and cultures for THOUSANDS OF YEARS would piss on Canadians whose nation has existed for 140 years, and call us RACIST for desiring our own country, culture, and wishing to EXIST?
The CONFEDERATION of Canada was a deal made in 1867 to provide EACH of the founding peoples of Canada with a permanent HOMELAND in a Province of Canada to GOVERN their own way, to HAND ON to their children and grandchildren for all time to come.

I hope Mr. Nigel Hannaford is true to his word, and will help us RESTORE CANADA TO CANADIANS !!!! WE, TOO, HAVE A RIGHT TO EXIST. If we immigrate anyone, it should be people who are an ENDANGERED SPECIES and need the REFUGE and will ADOPT this culture… HINDUS, MEXICANS and CHINESE are absolutely NOT endangered species, and they should cross their knees and stay where they are!
They only come to Canada to BREED because there’s STANDING ROOM ONLY in India, and a one-child policy in CHINA.

If you think his views are extreme you would probably want to put myself and almost all of my acquaintances in jail for ours. The Muslims in Canada should feel free to leave if they do not want to become Canadian. NOT CANADIAN MUSLIMS JUST PLAIN CANADIAN! To tell the truth we feel the same about all immigrants. If you come here the point is to be Canadian. Don`t want that stay where you came from. If where you came from is that good why did you come here?
I am unable to find anything objectionable in these views; they simply don’t accord with the cowardly, politically correct views espoused by vote sucking liberals. I’m sure this kind of talk is rare in the ethnic ghettos of the GTA, but it’s quite common in the rest of the beautiful country called Canada. And why do I get the feeling you’d like to silence people like him?

It had a native population, so the country was not founded, it was colonized; its native people raped and their land stolen. Clearly you do not know the history of the country.
