A new documentary called: “Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslim Really Think“ will premier in Toronto on Friday October 30, 2009 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, Exhibition Place at 7:30 p.m.
This is an intelligent film that confronts the challenges that Muslims around the world face and dismantles the stereotype they deal with.
The film was based on information collected by polling Muslims from around the world.

Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think is based on a simple premise: skip the pundits and speak to the people. The Canadian Premiere is your only chance to watch this astonishing documentary on the big screen in Canada.
Playing one night only on Friday, Oct. 30th, 2009 at the state of the art Queen Elizabeth Theater, in Toronto, this 60 minute documentary challenges some popular notions and asks some tough questions.
An impressive Q&A panel with filmmakers, researchers and Muslim leaders will follow the screening allowing you to get answers to your own questions.

Alex Kronemer
Executive Producer, Unity Productions Foundation
Alexander Kronemer, co-founder of Unity Productions Foundation is a frequent writer and lecturer on religious diversity, Islamic awareness and cross-cultural communication. He has a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Harvard University. Mr. Kronemer has published essays in numerous newspapers and journals, including the Christian Science Monitor and the Washington Post. He’s lectured to the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations, Harvard, Nike, Aetna, and Disney. He has appeared as a CNN commentator on several occasions, including during CNN’s historic live coverage of the Hajj in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Kronemer served a one-year appointment at the Bureau of Human Rights in the U.S. State Department focusing on U.S. foreign policy and Islam.
Mr. Kronemer is the Co-Executive Producer of Unity Productions Foundation, whose mission includes producing films, using them in dialogue, and engaging with Hollywood. Their films include Muhammad: Legacy of a Prophet, Cities of Light: The Rise and Fall of Islamic Spain, A Prince Among Slaves: The True Story of an African Prince Enslaved in the American South, Allah Made Me Funny: The Official Muslim Comedy Tour, On a Wing and a Prayer: An American Muslim Learns to Fly, Talking through Walls: How the Struggle to Build a Mosque United a Community, and Inside Islam: What a Billion Muslims Really Think.
Hamid Slimi
Chair of the Canadian Council of Imams and Executive Director, Faith of Life Network
Imam Hamid Slimi is the Executive Director of Faith of Life Network and current Chairman of the Canadian Council of Imams. He has received intensive training in many Islamic disciplines including law and jurisprudence, hadith sciences, seerah and Qur’anic tafseer. A noted speaker, author, lecturer and media personality, Imam Slimi has represented the Muslim community in Ontario at several multifaith councils, spearheaded interfaith dialogue and advises many local and national institutions.
Imam Slimi holds two postgraduate degrees with honors in Islamic studies and law (Morocco) and comparative world religions (USA). He is currently in the final stages of obtaining his PhD in Islamic Law (UK). Imam Slimi is fluent in English, Arabic and French and hosts a weekly program on Rogers TV.
